This and That

1. I love listening to the different radio series on the Mormon Channel! I have been enjoying the gospel solutions for families. It is so full of fabulous insights and ideas.

2. Today at Mia's school the first graders held a Vocabulary Parade celebration. Each child was given a word. We had a few weeks to learn the word's definition and put together a costume representing the word. Mia's word was "planet". We used a beach ball as our planet, and Mia was dressed all in yellow representing the sun. It was fun to see all of the other kids as well.

3. Tonight our stake is holding a Fathers and Sons steak dinner. Ty will be driving the boys to the event in his brand new Camaro. Ty has been in need of a new car for a while now. He had driven his Suzuki into the dust and really needed a replacement! He has spent weeks deciding on what car would work best for him with his budget and he picked out a dark blue camaro.
(I don't have a picture of Ty's camaro yet, but it looks just like this one!)

I am sure everyone considers my station wagon just as cool.

4. This is a wonderful idea!

5. 4 more school days until SUMMER vacation begins for us. I always feel like we are the very last to ever get out of school and we are can't wait :)
A few reasons summer is awesome:
Popsicles!
I bought popsicle sticks yesterday so that we can start filling our freezer!

S'mores!
Lots of fun s'mores ideas Here!

6. It's almost Friday! Ty and I can't wait for our little Palm Springs getaway tomorrow night! Yay :)

In a Fort

Today we had a repeat of the i-pad movie showing. We moved the event inside of a simple fort.
It was 100 times better than watching a movie on an i-pad outside of a fort.
Next time maybe we can set up the tent :)

Sunday Things

Zack and Zoey watched a movie on the i-pad.
They set it up and picked out the movie themselves, "Lilo and Stitch".
I provided them with Pops cereal to snack on, because we were out of popcorn. They are my favorite Z team.

Yesterday, the boys went to play at my parent's house. The girls stayed home.
We got out the bubble machine, the new bubble gun, and all things bubbles.
We had a bubble party!

Ty is working today. I am focusing on the positive. For example: we can forgo any kind of actual meal and eat watermelon and goldfish for dinner.

Happy Sunday!

This and That

1. THIS is so my life right now.
8 more school days until Summer!!!!!

2. This week....
It has been rough!
They are short at the hospital and last night Ty had already worked around 40 hours this week. He is back today, will be back tomorrow, and then will be on call all weekend!
Needless to say we all are tired.
I had to wake up the three older kids for school this morning. They typically get up on there own. Mia was so confused and kept asking why I was making her get up!

3. Speech is done for this school year! Woo-hoo :)
Next year Zack will be starting transitional kindergarten at the same school Max and Mia attend. I will drop off all 3 older kids in one place in the morning and Zack will see his new speech therapist during the school day there! So convenient!

4. I am loving the cooler weather! I know it will be hot again soon, so I am making hot chocolate while I can!

5. Chocolate almond butter on toast is my current favorite breakfast/lunch/snack. I can make it really amazing by throwing on some raspberries or strawberries. So yummy!

6. Ty and I are spending one night away next Friday....as in one week from tomorrow. We are both really looking forward to it. It is the happy thought that is getting us through all the craziness! We will be in Palm Springs, we will eat out, watch movies, go swimming, and sleep. It will be glorious!

Happy Thursday!

Happenings

I found these Honey Maid Minion crackers.
We had to buy them!
Zack and Zoey tried them out dipped into Nutella.
 It was a big hit.

Ty has been working to finish projects in our back yard. It is really coming together and looks great!

Our berries are back this year!
Zoey and I shared these yesterday. Fresh picked berries are so sweet!

Chocolate chip cookies for National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!
Made with brown butter and sea salt :)
We delivered plates of cookies to our friends and spent the evening catching up.
Conversation over cookies is always the best.
We got home late and the kids were tired! Zoey needed cookies before bed. She picked out two.
She looks exhausted. We put everyone right to bed.

Today is Friday! Fridays are the best!

Ty will be taking the boys to our ward's Father/Son campout tonight. I am in charge of food, and packing all the clothes.
I am excited to spend the evening with the girls! We are going to do our nails and watch a Barbie movie :)

Have an awesome weekend!

An Important Reminder

Tomorrow, May 15th, is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!

There are so many options! My cookie board on pinterest is full of them, and I am thinking I should just make them all.
Awwww.....notice it doesn't say raisins.

Tuesday Things

1. Ty and I went to look at cars yesterday. We bought the car Ty drives now back in 2003. It is basically worth nothing now and is falling to pieces day by day! Cars are expensive. Just FYI.

2. This morning was tough! I was dragging my feet. After dropping off the older kids, Zoey and I came home and I went back to bed for 45 minutes. When I woke up Zoey was covered in band aids she had found and there was water all over the kitchen floor, but I felt so much better!
Sometimes you just need a nap.

3.  THIS is still one of my favorite mormon channel videos. I love to watch it with Zack and Zoey. They have so much fun singing along!

4. I saw this on lds.org this morning.
For FHE last night we got onto familysearch.org and talked about our family tree, ancestors, and the importance of geneology. It really is amazing what we have access to right in our homes.

5. I decided I needed to start running intervals again. Sprinting is hard!

6. This coffee cake looks delicious.
We need a lazy morning so I can make it!

Have a great day!

Happy Mother's Day!

Ty left for work first thing this morning. The kids and I are having fun.
I made chocolate chip waffles with strawberries for breakfast.
Dance parties are perfect for Sunday mornings/Mother's Day.
Have a wonderful Mother's Day! Celebrate the wonderful women in your life! Enjoy the children in your life! The men in our lives are pretty great too!
I am so blessed to be a mom today!

I love my Mother's Day bouquet!
I hope it lasts all week :)

Little Girls

The Little Girls are having an after school tea party....aka....nutella sandwiches and water!
Mia brought a friend home and Zoey is thrilled to have some company.
 They are so cute :)
I love these little women!

It's Friday!!!!

 1. Most of our week has been spent at home letting Zoey recover from sickness. She is on the mend, but it has been a long week!

 2. Zackary loves to do his little school worksheets at home.
Color by number is always a hit :)

3. It is sunny and beautiful today! Just in time for the weekend.
The younger kids and I spent much of the morning outside while the older kids were at school.
 Teeter-Totters are awesome!

4. Have a delightful weekend!

This and That

1. Zoey is on the mend and feeling so much better!

2. Mia needs to make a ladybug to share with her class on Friday. I really wish someone would make one for us. We are not having great success!

3. This coming Sunday is Mother's Day. Ty will be working so it looks like the day will be all about me! Me making breakfast, me taking the kids to church, me making lunch, me entertaining everyone....yay!

Seriously though.....I am very lucky to be a mother to 4 awesome littles. I love them and I am looking forward to spending the day with them.

and in Ty's defense...he did buy me a brand new treadmill as a Mother's Day present so I can't complain.

4. This would actually be my ideal breakfast for Mother's Day, and the kids would love it too!
Chocolate Almond Butter on toast with berries.

5. I thought this was funny.....no regrets!

6. There is less than one month left of school until summer vacation. I signed the three older kids up for 4 weeks of swim lessons starting as soon as school gets out.
This should give them plenty of pool/water time. I know Zoey will be jealous! She will have to hang out poolside with me!

Happy Wednesday!

Strawberry Shortcake

One of Max's homework choices for this week was to make strawberry shortcake. (These are seriously real homework assignments and we love them!)
We made the shortcakes by cutting circles from a large sheet cake.
(Notice Max's arm....the rainbow loom thing is kind of out of control.)
We used 2 kinds of whipped cream.
We piled on tons of berries!
Max ate 2 last night and then one this morning for breakfast.
It was a very "sweet" assignment.

Sunday

1. Zoey is sick today. She has had a cold for several days that seems to be getting worse. I am staying home from church with her today, and it looks like we may be visiting the doctor's office tomorrow. So sad when little people are sick :(

2. This thought from conference was on the lds.org home page today.
I think this is especially true for mothers. It is a great responsibility we have to spread so much love!

3. I recently read an article that asked people what they do when they are at home alone. I am rarely home alone, but when I am home with just 1 child....like today.....I make granola, run on my treadmill, read scriptures, watch all the videos on lds.org, clean out my fridge, pretend to do yoga.....

Bananas, Chocolate, and Nuts.....Such a great combo!

5. We were at Michael's yesterday and we found the original Rainbow Loom.
Even though we have 2 other generic looms, Max and Mia insisted that this one was the best and we needed it.
My house is completely covered in rubber bands, and the kids arms are decorated with many bracelets, but they are happy and busy!

Happy Sunday!
Have a great week :)

Sunshine

We spent the morning at my parent's house today. The weather was extremely warm, dare I say it was hot! The kids put on their swim wear and spent some time in the sprinklers.
and then we played in the shade.
 We ate strawberries and grapes.
 Zoey isn't feeling well today.
She preferred to stay inside and put cans away inside cupboards.
 She is so helpful.
 and adorable!
I think most of our weekends will be spent in swimsuits for the next 6 months or so.
