Beach Day!

This post includes absolutely zero pictures of our time at the beach, but you must believe that it did happen!
I forgot my camera, and I didn't want to bring my phone to the beach because I was worried it would somehow get filled with sand, so I just enjoyed the beach day!
We went to Laguna. Max, Mia, and Zoey were in the water the entire time! Zoey kept asking Ty for more adventures in the waves! Zack is my sand buddy. He hates the water. He kept busy building castles and digging for treasure.
After the beach we always head to Newport for Sprinkles Cupcakes!
They are the very best....just ask Zack.
Zack will not eat cake or cupcakes at any place or from anywhere except for Sprinkles cupcakes.
Zack and Zoey picked out vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting.
Mia and Max got vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting.
Ty chose a dark chocolate cupcake with dark chocolate frosting and I went with a salted caramel cupcake. I think I won :)
My kids are adorable and the cupcakes made them goofy.

We had a wonderful time. The weather could not have been better! Not a bit overcast and not too warm.
This was Zoey on the drive home. She was worn out!

Happy Day!

Today is the first day of spring, the international day of happiness, and the kick off for the kid's spring break.
Happy Day!
To celebrate I decided to make a strawberry pie. Spring and summer is all about the berries!
Zoey and I went to pick the kids up from school and when I turned around I found her with a toy binky in her mouth. She is so hilarious :)
After we picked up the kids we stopped at Mcdonalds and had a picnic outside of the library. It is a gorgeous day!
The kids picked out books and movies and then we headed home to start spring break.

Lately

Max and the Honor Band competed in the Music Festival on Saturday.
They did a great job!
I can't believe all the kids in this band are just 9 and 10 years old!
They are really talented.

Spring weather has arrived! We have been outside every night. Taking walks and just playing in the yard.
I guess this broom seats 3.
The girls and I on the porch swing.
Zoey didn't feel like being photographed.
Peanut Butter chocolate chip cookies. So good!

Friday Again

This week:
Zoey joined me in the kitchen. I was baking cookies and she threw a bunch of ingredients into a bowl to create her own snack mix. She ended up with rice krispies cereal, dried cherries, chocolate covered pretzels, and almonds. Not bad!
 The cookies were good too!

Ty and I dove in and helped Max with his mission project.
4th graders in California spend some time studying all of the California missions and they finish their studies by building one of the missions.
Max was assigned the mission in Carmel by the sea....San Carlos Borromeo...It happens to be the one mission he has ever visited in person.
Ty did a great job planning our model. He and Max put the mission together and then Max and I got to work on the details!
I am very happy with how the mission turned out...I think Max is too! We are very excited to turn the project in and take a break from mission building for 2 more years until Mia will be doing one of her own!
We are excited for the weekend. Max has an honor band performance at the high school tomorrow. There will be judges! I am sure they will do great :)

This Week

We went to Ihop for national pancake day. Free pancakes all around!
Ty was able to meet us at the restaurant. Best dinner ever!
I got new skinny jeans....(my goodness my legs are short.)
 Zoey in the car.
 She loves painted nails.
Always pink, and sometimes purple too!
Zack and Max were in the car too today.
They were both sick and stayed home from school, but they had to come along with me to pick up Mia.
I swear they were sick this morning!
I am glad they are feeling better :)
Hopefully the weekend goes well!

Lately

Zack wants us to buy all the apps.
We finally tried out Papa Murphy's Pizza and we really love it....(especially the cinnamon roll pizza! Leftovers make an awesome breakfast.)
Zackary in the car before school.
 He thinks he is hilarious.
Max wrote a story that was chosen to be made into a short play at school. It was about a boy who made friends with a tree. It was really cute!
Zoey needs her tiara, suitcase, and coat all the time. She believes in being prepared.
For Max's blue and gold banquet we were supposed to make a cake and decorate it using a camping theme. I melted down orange and red hard candies and made a campfire cake. (Of course I had food network on the television while I worked. Those are my people!)
