Life Lately

It's been a while! Life has been busy :)
We have had a lot of cake and lots of celebrating.
 Birthdays, graduations, Mother's Day, etc....
Ty and I went on a 12 mile hike up Mt. San Jacinto.
It was beautiful. A wonderful date idea!
An end of the year homework assignment for Max involved eating and writing about chocolate pie.
I love it when homework and chocolate pie collide!
Band concerts, band tour, band parties.
 There was lots of band.
Zoey is still hanging out with me and we plan to keep it that way! After much debate I have decided to do preschool for Zoey at home next year. Pinterest has already helped me plan out most of the lessons for the year!

This is Zoey being a caterpillar...she is just cute.
 Epic brown butter cinnamon rolls!
 This was yesterday after school.
We were celebrating because we had nowhere to be all afternoon!
Summer really can't get here soon enough. 6 more days!

So basically school is still in session, we are ready to be done, it's been a great year, but we need a break!

Oak Glen

We left the house first thing today, to spend some time in Oak Glen. It has been a busy week and we really needed a little time out and away together.
We spent hours playing and hiking.
The kids collected acorns and then smashed them open with rocks to make easy food for squirrels.
I brought water and snacks, but we made a stop at Los Rios Ranch for apple cider and pastries.
It was a beautiful day. We really enjoyed it!
 Especially Zack!
 and Max.....

Such a happy little time we had!

This and That

 School pictures for the boys.
Zackary in kindergarten and Max in 4th grade!
Max looks so grown up to me.
Zoey....not a school picture. She is still at home and she loves every minute of her days. She spends them building train tracks and filling her dollhouse with My Little Ponies.
 Chocolate in brownie bar form.
Always a good idea.

Happy Thursday!

Beach Day!

This post includes absolutely zero pictures of our time at the beach, but you must believe that it did happen!
I forgot my camera, and I didn't want to bring my phone to the beach because I was worried it would somehow get filled with sand, so I just enjoyed the beach day!
We went to Laguna. Max, Mia, and Zoey were in the water the entire time! Zoey kept asking Ty for more adventures in the waves! Zack is my sand buddy. He hates the water. He kept busy building castles and digging for treasure.
After the beach we always head to Newport for Sprinkles Cupcakes!
They are the very best....just ask Zack.
Zack will not eat cake or cupcakes at any place or from anywhere except for Sprinkles cupcakes.
Zack and Zoey picked out vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting.
Mia and Max got vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting.
Ty chose a dark chocolate cupcake with dark chocolate frosting and I went with a salted caramel cupcake. I think I won :)
My kids are adorable and the cupcakes made them goofy.

We had a wonderful time. The weather could not have been better! Not a bit overcast and not too warm.
This was Zoey on the drive home. She was worn out!

Happy Day!

Today is the first day of spring, the international day of happiness, and the kick off for the kid's spring break.
Happy Day!
To celebrate I decided to make a strawberry pie. Spring and summer is all about the berries!
Zoey and I went to pick the kids up from school and when I turned around I found her with a toy binky in her mouth. She is so hilarious :)
After we picked up the kids we stopped at Mcdonalds and had a picnic outside of the library. It is a gorgeous day!
The kids picked out books and movies and then we headed home to start spring break.

Lately

Max and the Honor Band competed in the Music Festival on Saturday.
They did a great job!
I can't believe all the kids in this band are just 9 and 10 years old!
They are really talented.

Spring weather has arrived! We have been outside every night. Taking walks and just playing in the yard.
I guess this broom seats 3.
The girls and I on the porch swing.
Zoey didn't feel like being photographed.
Peanut Butter chocolate chip cookies. So good!
